1 MORE SLEEP, 1 MORE SLEEP!!

The 'paper chain' is now a 'paper ring.'

Clothes stacked...need to be put IN the suitcase...

Some of them are being packed dirty...washer and dryer have been on the side porch (note: not the front porch...we are not yet THAT Southern) for almost a week as we tile the laundry room...

Mom, may I please do some laundry once we arrive at your house? :) Thank you.

Regardless...this time tomorrow...we will be ON A JET PLANE to Washington State!!

WOOHOO!

The Happy-s of My Happy Birthday

Felt convicted of an ungrateful heart after my earlier B-Day post.

There were some 'Happy-s' on my Birthday...

My Happy List:

- Waking up to signs of "Happy Birthday scattered around the kitchen from my precious hubby.
Examples: "35 and still ALIVE - I mean - AWESOME" (with ALIVE crossed out) and
"ONLY 35 and Looking Good" :)

- A "Nermaid" card drawn for me from Chloe

- My friend Lisa rearranging her morning and taking Eli for several hours so K, C and I could go see Madagascar 2 together for $1 each

- New running shoes (that were paid for with $$ I won in a Fitness Challenge...I am so fit.) ha!

- Mexican food for Lunch! (with a "free day" to eat whatever I wanted...cuz it was my Birthday!! I may have extended that into a week...because technically it is my Birthday WEEK.)

It was just after lunch that I received my ticket for the tinted windows...that is when the day began to go south...so we will stop here and remain grateful...and move onto Birthday celebration number 2...

- That there was a "Birthday Celebration 2"

- Spending the afternoon with my Mom and Sisters
(saw Clinton Kelly from What Not to Wear at this Mall Makeover thingy, shopped, dinner out... )

- the BIG one...a LE CREUSET Dutch Oven (worthy of it's own post...coming soon to a blog near you!)

AND....

6 more sleeps...

in case you were wondering...

3. 5.

It happened. I turned 35. 3. 5.

Considering the alternative, it is a good thing...
I do want to be around to watch these little ones grow into big ones...
so getting older will be required...

But yesterday, the little ones seemed to have missed the memo that it was my special day...where everything revolved around me (yeah right)...AND it seems that the GA State Patrol also missed the memo on
"Yay, it's Sarah's Birthday - let's be nice to her..."

Did you know that there is a legal limit on how dark the tint can be on the windows of your car???

Me either.

Apparently the previous owner of our minivan got them tinted too dark...and guess who gets to go to court over it?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!

Lion sighting 15 minutes from our house!

How many times does a person get to type THAT on a blog?!?!?

Reminder...we live in Georgia. Not Africa!

You think I am kidding...

http://www.accessnorthga.com/detail.php?n=221024

This could end up being some weird publicity stunt...

But I HAD to take advantage of the great blog title opportunity!

(and no, I will not be allowing my children to play outside with raw steaks hanging from their necks today...not today.) :)

...I think a robot did it...

...so...changed the pink sheets today.

she and her Dad are just alike.

anytime. I mean, ANYTIME I begin the process of changing the sheets on a bed...one or both of them throw themselves onto the aforementioned bed and roll around on/in the clean sheets.

so, on cue, she does the same thing this morning. but switches it up a little with a few bounces for effect.

we laugh. I remove her. she returns. we laugh. I remove her. she returns. I stop laughing. I remove her...

we do our little 'dance' a couple more times and finally she allows me to finish the task at hand.

later, at nap time, we sit on her clean sheets and she smiles.

"I have clean sheets."
"You do! I wonder how that happened?"
"I don't know. I think a robot did it."

yeah, right. same robot that made your lunch, washed your clothes, wiped your bum...

i. am. a. robot.

Paper Chain

She and I made a paper chain this morning...

Counting down the days until we hop on a plane and see Boppi and GrandBob (aka Kevin's parents), McKenna, Jordan, Uncle Rob, Aunt Nichelle, Uncle Sue (sorry, Michael...blame your brother)...

The excitement is almost tangible...

Lots of pictures of airplanes being drawn.
Lots of "how do I write 'I love airports?'"
and "do we need to pack up today?"

We have "9 sleeps" left before we leave...

9, 8, 7, 6...

(also a good lesson in counting backwards...another item of interest these days...)

Hard Day

Friday was a hard day.
It can be summed up in one word :: biting.
Two culprits.
Two frustrated parents.
Lots of battles of the wills.

But it ended with the oldest telling me at bedtime,

"Mommy, you make everything better."

Ahhh.

Redemption.

Spray Ground

C and E
C and E with our friend Luke
(he was happy to be with the gang...but still unsure about the water)
The Little Boys

The Williams and Moore Gang
taken from over my head...thus parts of their heads missing
(Luke is off to the side observing)

Ali, Chloe and Abi in their matching suits
(SO CUTE!)

The Girls again...

The Spray Ground is HANDS DOWN the best way to do water with our kids and our friends!
